Spice Girls

I am watching "Spice Girls Live at Wembley Stadium" DVD that I bought few days ago while uploading their photos for my new post. I knew this band from a compilation album, named Megahit 8 in year 1996. This album contain their hit single - Wannabe, which considered to be their signature song. I like them so much because each of them has unique voice. They participate in song composing, able to produce their own hit songs and perform well in any live shows. Song arrangement is an important factor that make their songs more perfect. I used to watch their shows in television and recorded them to video tape. I also bought VCD for their movie, "Spiceworld: The Movie". However, I did not know the story of this film after watching it.

The group is consist of:

  • Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice)

  • Melanie Brown (Scary Spice)

  • Emma Bunton (Baby Spice)

  • Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice)

  • Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice)

Golden Time - 5 members

In year 1997, I worked as a temporary promoter for Bonia shoes in Ocean supermarket, Kuantan. That time, my supervisor from leather department bought a cassette of Spice Girls first album, she gave me the cover of this album. Therefore, I could read the lyrics of their songs and understand the messages they wanted to pass to audiences. They promoted the equality between sexes and always use the slogan "Girl Power" whenever they appear in the public.

Reunion

They reform, release a greatest hits and is supported by an accompanying world tour in 2007. The album features 2 new songs, which are "Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)" and "Voodoo". That time, I was working in Manila and heard the new song in taxi while on my way to office. I felt excited and happy because I thought I would never have the chance to listen to their new songs. Media always reported that some of the group members were not willing to participate for the reunion tour.
